Drivers want power, reliability, and performance. Those craving all three with a solid dose of premium luxury can find it in a Cadillac. This brand has long been the name for super-sized luxury, but did you know that the 2017 Cadillac Escalade and CTS-V V-8 engine doesn’t just serve in bold passenger vehicles, but that a very similar model is featured in award-winning Cadillac race cars?
Cadillac Escaladeand CTS-V V-8 Engine
The 2017 Cadillac Escalade, 2017 Cadillac CTS-V, and three Cadillac prototype race cars (which won 11 out of 15 podium places in the 2017 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship) all share a 6.2-liter V-8 naturally aspirated engine with the same inherent architecture. Drivers with a new Escalade or CTS-V under their hands can enjoy knowing that their luxury vehicle is driven by the beating heart of a race car. In the racing models this engine delivers nearly 600 horsepower. That is different on the road-designed models.
“As in the Cadillac CTS-V and Escalade, the Cadillac 6.2L V-8 in the race car produces unrivaled, unfailing power and responsiveness.” – Richard Brekus, Cadillac Global Director of Product Strategy.
